Tweet Home Chicago Birdhouses Delight and Inspire

Earlier this year, the City of Chicago and Chicago Park District hosted Tweet Home Chicago, a birdhouse design and build competition, to raise awareness about birds and bird habitat. More than 130 adults and youth submitted delightful, functional bird houses made of sustainable materials, each with a Chicago bird-friendly location in mind.

These whimsical birdhouses are on display in Chicago parks and other locations across the city to help residents learn what steps they can take to help feathered friends – beyond building birdhouses. See several of the submissions in the Green Building Resource Center, at the Chicago Center for Green Technology. The exhibit, which runs through August 28, is free.
