Little Village Environmental Justice Organization (LVEJO) is a not-for-profit group that works with families, coworkers and neighbors to improve the environment and lives in Little Village and throughout Chicago through democracy in action.

Goals

• Work with LVEJO staff and volunteers, along with the City of Chicago Department of Housing and Economic Development, to implement the community’s vision for the garden

• Develop a place where Little Village residents can gather

Sample Results

• The first new open space in Little Village in 27 years
• Financial and material donations for many elements of the plan
• A presentation plan that LVEJO can use for fundraising
• Transformation of abandoned land into a community space and urban garden
